About the Role
As an Outreach Associate, you’ll be the friendly face families trust, working in Pittsburgh laundromats to start conversations, answer questions, and connect them to helpful services. This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to build relationships and make a real impact in your community.
What You’ll Do
- Connect with Families: Strike up friendly conversations, build trust, and share helpful information about public benefits.
- Educate and Assist: Explain benefit programs, screen for eligibility, and help families with the application process in a simple, clear way.
Who You Are
- A People-Person: You love talking to new people and have experience in outreach, customer service, or social work.
- Empathetic: You genuinely care about helping others and can connect with families from all walks of life.
- Adaptable: You’re comfortable working in different laundromats and can easily adjust to new situations.
- Self-Starter: You can take initiative and work independently without a lot of supervision.
Must-Haves
- Comfortable with In-Person Outreach: Ready to spend your days in laundromats—no laundry required!
- Reliable Transportation: Able to travel between different locations in Pittsburgh.
- Tech-Friendly: Comfortable using simple tech tools for tracking and reporting.
- Qualified Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Nice-to-Haves
- Bilingual in Spanish: A plus for connecting with more families.
- Familiarity with Public Benefits: Helpful but not required.
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Friday–Tuesday
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Compensation: $21-$22.50
